Mozilla Firefox Alternative

Swiftfox

Yes, you read that title right. For anyone who has used the Windows version of Firefox for an extended period of time will notice that the Linux version is a little lackluster. This includes speed-wise, features etc.

Swiftfox might lack some of the same features that the Linux version of Firefox does, but speed-wise, it is much, much faster.

From Wikipedia: "Swiftfox is a freely downloadable, open source graphical web browser. Swiftfox is a binary and settings optimized build of the Mozilla Firefox web browser for Linux made by Jason Halme. An optimized build is created for each of the supported microprocessor architectures. The current version of Firefox is available as well as the development versions. Firefox extensions and plugins are fully compatible with Swiftfox."

Tweak: Basic Firefox network tweaks

Swiftfox by default already has basic network settings tweaked for best performance. If you decide that you would like to stick with Firefox, change these network settings:

Change "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Change "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Change "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 8
